BREAKING NEWS - Scandal Rocks The Queso Cup - Bombshell

Queso Cup Management has received an email identifying rules violations by Team Masley in Queso Cup's IX, XII and XIV. According to PGA rules clearly stating that all emailers are honest and have the best interest of the game at heart, Team Masley has been notified that their Cup titles in 2009, 2013 and 2014 have been vacated making Team Lambert the 8-time defending champion entering Queso Cup XVI in Orlando later this month.

While details are still coming together, the good-citizen emailer identified as [email protected], surprisingly, could not be contacted for further comment. Team Masley Captain John Masley was however reached for comment and simply stated "Lamb, I'm out."

2017 Update - Teams/Matches and Charity Announced

Queso Cup Management is proud to announce that this year's teams have been determined and round-by-round format of play, pairings and opponent matchups are now available. We have a few twists in our format this year that we hope will make/keep things interesting right down to the last match on Sunday.

Queso Cup XVI - Headed Back to Grand Cypress, Orlando

In honor of 'The King', the Queso Cup is heading back to Orlando in 2017. Mark your calendars now, here are the details as they stand today.

Dates - April 21-23, 2017 (this is the weekend following Easter weekend)

Location - Grand Cypress Resort, Orlando, FL

Grand Cypress was a fantastic host for Queso Cup XIV and we are excited to head back there again in 2017. Queso Cup management has accumulated a critical mass of high school football accountability making our fall dates a challenge and no one is interested in sweating their way through an Orlando summer weekend - although Masley has assured me that we can get a deal on the Queso Cup V (Barton Creek) anythingbutdry-fit shirts again if necessary.

Apologies again to our friends and past participants that were not able to join us this year due to the move to an early-in-the-year tournament date - we look forward to having you back with us for 2018!

Queso Cup 1, Southern Indiana Rain 0 (Oh, and Team Lambert regains the Cup)

In true Queso Cup fashion, teams Masley and Lambert, against all odds, squeezed in 72 holes of golf and completed a successful and entertaining Queso Cup XV. After a three year drought, Team Lambert was able to regain the coveted Cup which, through input from Dave Brown, has a new shape and profile for 2016. For the first time in Queso history, the teams awoke to kick off the Sunday morning matches in a dead heat tie. In the end, Team Lambert came away with a 17 1/2 to 15 1/2 victory to secure the victory for 2016. the Queso Cup is now on it's world tour with the winning side making it's first stop in Chagrin Falls, OH.

In more important news, The Queso Cup XV family collected $2,575 for this year's charity - The Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund. Many thanks to everyone who made a donation this year - this puts us right at $26,000 in donations to different charity causes across the last 10 years. Not bad for this rag-tag group.
